At the Ithaca Care Collective, we believe in Ubuntu—that we belong to one another, and that children, families, and communities flourish through shared care.

Our mission is to provide tuition-free, high-quality drop-in care that offers parents respite, nurtures children’s curiosity, and strengthens the bonds of our neighborhoods.

Rooted in the liberatory spirit of Paulo Freire and the child-centered wonder of Reggio Emilia, we see every child as capable, every parent as wise, and every community as rich with knowledge. We practice mutual aid—showing up for one another through relationships, reciprocity, and shared power.
